There are two videos of mine that I don't have anymore, and I don't think anyone has copies of them either. One is called "Eccentric Jumping", which was one of my first videos, and the other is called "To The Start Of Two Betrayals", which was the second video I ever captured and edited by myself. If anyone does miraculously have copies of these videos, I would very much appreciate having them sent to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I was hoping for this archive to be far more aesthetically pleasing, more organized and with more videos in it, but with HIH coming to a close, I wanted to throw it together so my videos wouldn't be scattered and lost. But I've been very busy these past couple weeks and I just haven't had the time to work on this. This was the best I could do on short notice. So, on to the videos I do have:
The Three Towers: Revisited
Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjJeRXC3xqQ
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-fVZ...eature=related
Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Jkdn...eature=related
This was the first tricking video I ever appeared in. Quite a way to start. A long time ago, I believe as far back as the V1 forum, there was a competition called The Three Towers (T3T), the challenge being to get as many things on top of a blue beam tower as possible. That video inspired me to start this project, The Three Towers: Revisited, where the video would be all about blue beam tower tricks. A lot of people contributed to the project, but only a handful of people had time to land tricks. The final list of tricksters was myself, djDAP, WLT (3rd Person), Dark Helmet, SneakyPete, BigGruntyThirst and Uzny.
Two big challenges were completed, namely getting to the bottom of the blue beam shaft, and setting the record for most vehicles on a blue beam tower: five. Some of the most jaw dropping tricks and launches ever seen were landed in this video. This is regarded as one of the greatest videos ever released. A must watch.
slYnki's First Variety Video
Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-2DVOYExTE
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ndVr...eature=related
While I was working on T3T:R, I was also working away on this video. This was back when I had free time to speak of. I was very happy with the footage I churned out for T3T, but the footage in this video completely blows T3T out of the water. There's so much going on in this video I can't hope to write about it all. There's sick vehicle collections, insane launches and much more, including a fair bit of scorpion tank tricks. It's full to the brim with new tricks and crazy footage that won't leave you disappointed. Many, many thanks to scurty for capturing and BigGruntyThirst for editing. This was back before I had a capture card, so I appreciate their help in bringing this video to the masses.
Speed Stack Walk Gap
Video (Download - Right Click Save Target As): http://www.halo-ring.org/mrollie/slynki%2024.wmv
My second Halo 1 jumping video, this time on the multiplayer maps. I got the inspiration for it from scurty and djDAP, who released their own Halo 1 jumping video a few weeks prior. This video has a wide variety of jumps in it. Speed jumps, stacks, un-aided jumps, you name it. It's fun watching this video now, because jumping has evolved so much over the years, it shows you how old this video really is. It's still a very enjoyable watch, and I still have to thank scurty for capturing, Reidon for hosting and MrOllie for editing, even if he did spell the name of the video wrong =)
Project One Clips
Soon after my variety video was released, it was either Lone Starr or SRL that suggested another collaboration video, but with tricks on any map we wanted. The project sadly didn't go anywhere, so I released the clips I got for it. This was the first video I captured and edited by myself. It's fun watching this again, because my capture card couldn't capture sound and windows movie maker was scary. It really is slapped together, but the footage is still nuts. I quite enjoy the long range pogo launch to the tower, and the final launch in the video will leave you stunned.
Herbie Goes Flying
People really enjoyed my clips for Project One, but there was one clip that people were very interested in seeing more of: the flying grunt. Thus, Herbie Goes Flying was born. Abusing a simple loadzone trick, you can watch me send a grunt flying to the suspension bridge, to the banshee platform and even out of the giant pit in the middle of the level. I felt an old school video was appropriate for this trick, which is why there's no music playing over the tricks. Just a fun little video.
Speed Stack Walk Gap 2
The sequel to SSWG, once again brought to you with the help of scurty, MrOllie, Reidon, and Maluu, who mixed the songs for this video. When I was working on this video, I wanted it to be bigger and better than the first video, and I believe I succeeded. Yet another fun video to watch for the age, but still entertaining.
Scorpion Tank To The Suspension Bridge
This challenge was on my mind and the minds of many others for years. I felt I knew how to complete it, so one day I just went for it. My original set up for the launch failed, so I just decided to put all the grenades I had in one big pile and fire a rocket at it. Haha, and whaddya know, it worked. This is one of my best tricks.
Little Vehicle Collection on AoTCR
The day after I completed the scorpion tank challenge, I just felt like tricking some more, so I went ahead and made this fun little video.
A Christmas Variety Video
Just some tricks filmed for the holidays. Some are new, the bulk are old, but they're all really fun. I personally enjoy the bloopers the most, even though the last three launches are fantastic.
The Double Launch
Utterly pointless but ridiculously challenging and entertaining to watch. This was the first of many excerpts from my launching video, Dosage.
The Library on Legendary in 30 seconds
April Fools 2010 (:
I hadn't released a video in awhile, particularly a jumping video, so I decided to fire up the xbox and film some jumps. The jumps in this video were filmed with the intent to show off what can be done with Halo 1 physics, and the bulk of them are much harder than they look. It's a short video packed with action, and I'm very pleased with it.
Scorpion Tank To The Banshee Pillar
When the challenge to get the scorpion tank on the suspension bridge was suggested, this challenge was up in the air as well, but no one ever attempted it, because no one believed it was possible. When I got the tank to the suspension bridge, everyone wanted to see this done. Then, after three days of work, I finally got that perfect launch, and it was done... then I did a little more. This is the best trick I've ever completed. Halo 1 tricking at its finest.
Scorpion Tank To The Banshee Platform In One Shot
Definitely overshadowed by the banshee pillar, but still a video I enjoy. I was testing a wraith launch at first. Then when I learned that wraiths are at least three times as heavy as scorpion tanks and that I had failed miserably, I didn't want my grenade pile to go to waste, so I put the scorpion on top of it and blasted it to the banshee platform. This trick is special because it used to take two launches to get the tank to the platform. But with a slightly larger grenade pile and a well placed rocket, I only needed one grenade pile to do it.
Excerpt #2 from Dosage. Who says you have to be standing on the vehicle for the launch to count?
Unique Tower Launch
Excerpt #3 from Dosage. I took your average launch set up and got a little creative with it.
The Catch Launch
Excerpt #4 from Dosage. Getting creative with the basics.
Silent Cartographer Done Fun in 3:55
There is a single shortcut in this video that I simply had to try, which you won't be able to miss and will thoroughly enjoy.
Halo Reach - Snatching The Falcon And More
This was released a mere four days after Reach hit shelves. Very simply, it shows how to pilot the falcon on Winter Contingency, followed by glitches and exploration. The tutorial has since been obsoleted and the tricks have been expanded on, but it's still one of my favorite videos.
Amazing Small Things
A partner jumping video in Halo 1. Special and unique because I'm the one handling both, and sometimes all three controllers. One of the most enjoyable videos I've worked on, with a lot of great and creative jumps. I've been told many times that this is one of my best.
Jump Town - A Halo 2 Jumping Video
I've always loved Halo 2 jumping videos, but never really got into it myself. Then one day, my good friend acxy and I decided we'd give it a shot, just for fun, and this is the end result. It's not the most spectacular video ever filmed in terms of footage, but for those craving a nice old school video, this is the video for you.
Halo 1 New Speedrunning Tricks
The title of the video is all the description you need. People loved it simply because they couldn't believe after nearly ten years on shelves, new things were still be discovered in Halo 1. An instant classic.
Christmas Variety Video #2
Back again for the holidays, and yet another great collection of fun tricks, including a few deleted scenes from Dosage, and one brand new excerpt at the very end. It's a launch to a brand new spot on AoTCR... a spot I engineered. The best part is still the bloopers though (:
A Tower To Tower Attempt
My new years video to close out 2010. I wanted to breathe some life into the tower to tower challenge, so I gave it another shot. I came up short, sadly, but it's still a great video to watch, and I did succeed in bringing interest back into the challenge, which I'm happy for.
Just Jump 2: Leftover Clips - Episode 1
A collection of all the un-aided jumps that won't make the cut in Just Jump 2, but deserve recognition regardless.
Concepts: A Halo Reach Jumping Video
Halo 2 jumping was a very popular form of tricking, then the popularity of Halo 3 jumping sky rocketed, with the jumps and videos becoming more and more jaw dropping. When Halo Reach was released, people had extremely high expectations for it, and Reach came up short, so a lot of people abandoned it. I knew a lot of creative things could be done with it, so I filmed this video to show off a lot of those unique and creative things. I didn't give birth to Reach jumping, but a lot of people felt that with this video, I gave it a nice push in the right direction.
Just Jump 2 - Sneak Peek/Trailer
The first look at my last big jumping project: Just Jump 2. I felt it was appropriate to release with HIH coming to a close.
The Respawn Launch
This was a rejected idea from Dosage, but I felt it deserved some spotlight anyway. The only word I can use to describe it is unique.
Dosage - Sneak Peek/Trailer
A preview of my hyped up launching video. I ran into an absurd amount of technical problems with this trailer, so it's not as good as I wanted it to be, which disappoints me more than I can say. It's still a good taste of what's to come. It's possible that it may be blocked in your country unless you live in the states. Just my luck.
And that's all I've got. I hope my videos have entertained over the years and will continue to entertain for many years to come. It's been a blast, HIH. Thanks for everything.
My comedy blog. Under construction.
