It's rarely going to run at full FPS in the preview window because it's rendering as it previews. Even my computer with a 64 bit OS, 64 bit version of Vegas 9, and 8 gigs of RAM sometimes lags in the preview window. It's just how it is with Vegas.

You might want to try to to reduce the preview quality to 'draft'. This should give you a more smoother preview.

ASP

Or you should try throwing your pc out of your window and never buy another one. Ever. Problem solved.

Right, because it's the PC's fault and not just the way Vegas is...I don't have a problem in After Effects when I do a RAM Preview, but Vegas doesn't do RAM previews like most other editing suites, it renders the preview on-the-fly.

That sorta defeats the purpose of a preview...

But if your computer isn't fast enough to render a live preview, that's a way to work at least half-decently.

Kyoo eff tee

I had to do this several dozen times with Meta-Stability, not to mention having to render the video in 3 seperate sections then re-join them at a later point.

Vegas is crappy when it comes to rendering/previewing.
