Yeah, my capture card doesn't produce crystal audio. So distortion doesn't sound the greatest. Yes, I did both guitar parts, the hesitation was the editing, I recorded that riff and copied it. I'm lazy like that. The solo on that song is awesome, beyond me...

Well recording and editing issues aside; that sounded really good. :) You should give a go at Not Alone by All That Remains. That'll give you a workout. I want to give it a go myself.

This is my friend's cousin's band.
Everyone in that band is like 15-16 years old and they have some hella good recording.

And how would one go about recording drum tracks? Just put like a mic over the drum set?

Ideally, you would want multiple mics and a room that doesn't echo at all. I'd mic the bass area, then both sides higher up so that you get good pickup for your whole kit. If you're just doing this at your house, hanging blankets on the walls that would be good, as this would keep your cymbals from echoing. I'm sure you could get good sound out of just two mics a little left and right of center of your kit, or even just one mic placed in the middle.

Well tell your friend's band and him that they've got some good stuff there.

She's a beauty. I like Ibanez a lot.

If you have a Capture Card, like a lot of the people on this website, there's this tutorial, made by yours truly.

Otherwise, I'd just go with a digital camera. Just make sure that it picks up the sound well.

I have a CC, but I think I fail to have all those cords and stuff. Dont fear tho, I started pluggin things in and I found I am now able to record with audacity somehow! woot for me!

Anyway Im gonna throw an attempt soon at playing some of Bat Country. Anyone know that affect in the beginning intro part? I already have the basics down until the guitar solo.

Btw that 'Dying in your arms' sounded quite nice. Good job on that.

Yes, of course. All musicians welcome. :)

Nice, lol. Not sure about the effect. I lower the tone on my guitar, then scoop the highs, boost the lows, and drop the highs on my pedal. Gives it a very flat, deep tone. Still not the same though. I'm not very into AS, sorry.

Thank you :)

I had to learn to play the recorder for music class a couple years ago. Got the black belt level. What can I say, I'm just skilled at using both hands and my mouth. ;) I forgot everything about it though lol. I can't play anything on it anymore. It was a lot harder to learn that guitar, I thought. So props to you on your trumpet skills. You'll eventually get to the point where you can really shred (if that's a term applicable term for trumpet playing...)

I'm not really a musician, but I played the clarinet for 2 years. *shudders*

At any rate, I do want to learn to play the mandolin. It's supposed to be the easiest of the string instruments to learn, and I think it sounds great.

One of my friends is crazy good at mandolin. I've always thought it looks alot harder than guitar though.

I found a link to stream Velvet Revolver's new Cd for free. They have the video for She Builds Quick Machines. It's an awesome Cd, and I believe it's definately worth buying. The band really went all out on this one.

That amp is really exspensive. =\ What's so special about it? As far as price and quality range, I would think that something like thiswould be better, but maybe that's just me. It seems like an awesome amp. But wow, that guitar looks insanely awesome. o_o I wish I had the cash to get something like that. It looks beautiful. *tear. :( I've never heard of ESP until now though.

My friend has the amp, and its amazing. Tone is incredible. And yeah, the guitar is sexy as hell. Oh, and ESP is actually a really popular brand of guitar, but its ok, I've never heard of Peavey till a couple weeks ago. =/.

I play Bass, but I'm saving up some money to buy a Micro Korg Synthesizer.
