Who Else Thinks Ms Is Cheap? - 08-31-2006 , 08:03 PM

Okay, sorry for the loud title, but, I called MY XBOX today and wanted to get my 360 repaired.
$129.99.
That
is
EXORBITANT.
I'm sorry, that's more than 1/4 of what I paid for it, and it's not my fault it broke.
This really angers me.
I'm taking my business elsewhere, like Nintendo.
Also, did you know that there is only a 90 day warranty on the 360?

To the question in the topic:

Well, just about everyone on the face of the planet! Miscrosoft has always been know as a "cheapskate" corporation, at least to my knowledge.

To the post:

That is outrageous! How could they possibly charge you THAT much just to repair it. At most about $60.

Think about it, an Xbox 360 is a very complicated computer. If your motherboard fried on a top of the line gaming computer how much would you pay for it?

But, on a top of the line gaming computer, $130 isn't 1/4 of the price, maybe 1/10.

Exactly why you should be grateful for the price. Most parts in the 360 can not be found on the market now. If they are, they are proably as much as the 360.

But I don't wanna be like the people who's 360's have broken more than once or twice.
Because then i'd pay as much as I paid for the console.
They just don't build them very well..
Since the warranty was already void, we opened the sucker up, and there's soooo much empty space, and everything in there isn't held on as tight as it probably could, tight enough, but still not incredibly tight. I'm surprised stuff doesn't fall out if you have to carry it around, is what i'm saying.

Believe it or not, Microsoft isn't cheap. If you realized how complicated the xbox 360 is you would say "they only charged me $129.99!" Yay right? well anyway At the release of every system, no matter what you should purchase a warrenty

Microsoft build the best system on the planet, Deal With it! Do you see any other systems as complicated as the 360? I think not.

Do you see Dead Rising? They could never put that on a Playstation, It would fry! Same with the original xbox, It would fry the second it touched the system! Don't even get me started with King Kong.

yeah dude u should feel lucky it only cost 129.99. we get such a deal on the 360. it costs microsoft almost 800 bucks to make one. I got lucky when i sent mine in though. my state has some weird law on electronics so i got an extra 90 days beyond the original warranty

But, I digress from the issue of how powerful it is.
My computer is worth the repair money because it is far more useful for things other than games and being a media center. It is a hub for information.

I'm all for freedom of expression and whatnot, but this topic is a bit bashy and I've not really captured the point here. It was past warranty, something broke, and you had to pay for that. That happens all the time! I'm a bit surprised it cost that much, but still.

Ninety day warranties are the norm for all electronics unless you buy an extended warranty.
