Exclamation Death Barrier break-though! - 04-18-2007 , 01:19 AM

Here's how they work, in theory (at least on tombstone):

The death barriers, are only death floors. They can only kill you if you either plant your feet on solid ground, or, you are falling, and hit the invisible "floor".
The death floor extends off the ledge, so if you jump as high as the next ledge, while outside of the map, you'll die. You'll also die if you land on the ground outside the map.

To avoid this, we (Ghost Faction, Swaheeli, and I) launched a small box on top of tombstone, and was able to jump on it if we jumped just right, so not to jump as high as the ledge above us.

Therefore, in theory, if someone was to launch a box to the highest ledge on a side of the map, they could in theory sword cancel up and land on that box, since there is no death ledge above them.

Hopefully this will lead to better discoveries =)

Edit: The box part is failed for now. Apparently we can only stand on the box sometimes. However, the theory isn't completely disproven.

Awesome work guys. I found a way to get "almost out", and I'm uploading to slow Mythica >_< right now, but it looks like you guys got a more solid way of doing it. Kudos to you three.

Swaheeli, if you happen to be the one to live outside on the box could you show us a little of that patented Swaheeli Shuffle? Or, if you're alive inside the map could you do it there? And, even if you never succeed, could you show us anyway? :D:D:D:D

Anyway, Spuff explained the theory further to me. It makes sense. A lot of sense. The death barriers are like a one way street. If you pass through them in the proper direction (upward) its all good, as long as you don't hit them on the way down. Congratz on the theory, here's hoping for a success.

I love how the solution to not being able to survive ontop of the maps because you land on a death barrier seems to be "just don't land on them". So simple, so awesome.

HIH isnt for glory hounding, its for sharing information. Well, that's what it used to be for, though some people seem to forget that. But not Spuff 'N Luff!

Nofirefrog

Can we see the Swaheeli Shuffle anyway?

Yeah, but taking information and labeling it as your own doesn't seem too fair to me.

Good luck guys.

Well.. So can you stand on the box and hit it while your on it?

And maybe... if we surround a box with about 20 people....
and we start chanting "ooga shaka box fly!"
And we all immediately jump on the box....
We might be able to fly around the outside of the map...

Just a theory.
