Radiohead's lyrics can either make your brain poop itself out confusion, or can make absolutely no sense at all. Kid A/Amnesiac's lyrics were literally just put in to compliment the music, they make no sense in most cases. But if you listen to OK Computer or The Bends or In Rainbows (or even Hail To The Thief) Thom says some seriously deep schlapskie now and then.

Radiohead is one of my favorite bands. I can't pick an album for a favorite, though. It's just like you said.
And they're not really a fad, SRL. They're big in England, but the height of their popularity was eight years ago. If you want to get into them or see what they're about, I'll give you some choice tracks: Pablo Honey (1993) Creep The Bends (1995) High and Dry Bullet Proof...I Wish I Was OK Computer (1997) Paranoid Android Karma Police Kid A (2000) Everything in Its Right Place Idioteque Amnesiac (2001) Pyramid Song I Might Be Wrong Hail to the Thief (2003) 2 + 2 = 5 Myxomatosis In Rainbows (2007) Any track, really. I guess it's between The Bends and In Rainbows as a favorite, for me, actually. |

I looked through some of their songs lyrics before downloading them and a few of them, well, they just seemed quite confusing. They were either so deep I couldn't even comprehend them or just slapped together for another song, not sure. |

Funny how I just got done listening to Creep and I see this thread. It is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. It describes my friends life just about perfectly and how she used to feel... and makes me kinda feel bad for her...eh...
I haven't listened to any other Radiohead stuff...Well I have but I hated all of it except My Iron Lung and Creep...I should try more I guess. |

I'm starting to grow a liking to them already, I wish they had more big songs, well, you know what I mean.

That's the one funny thing I find about people's opinion of Radiohead. People who don't listen to a lot of Radiohead like Creep and Pablo Honey. But those who listen to a lot of Radiohead don't really like that album.

Just takes time for their ears to adjust to their sound, although I still only like a select few songs, thats how I am with most bands. Theirs very few bands that have a great amount of great sounding or lyrically great songs throughout their entire album, its normally a few, thats it and it repeat throughout their other albums. I'll be honest, their sound is what turns me away and the songs that don't make any sense, those also turn me away.

i've listened to most of their stuff (all my friends are obsessed with them, so i am forced to) and it is just so bland and boring for me.

Oh, and for the record, "Let Down" on the OK Computer album is awesome. Just thought I'd share.

That one is good too.
Let Down is almost hymn-like, musically. Hard to describe. I love the progression to the final verse. |

I just got Hail to the Thief a couple of weeks ago, and I'm having trouble understanding why it was considered one of their weaker albums.
So far, I like it better than anything else they've made. |
