Wow...I'll see how much I can remember...

I guess I should begin with how I found HIH. I was in 7th grade, I believe, and it was summer of either '05 or '06. I was at an IRL friend's house who was an HIH lurker at the time, and he showed me the Zanzibar window superbounce. Needless to say, I was hooked, and started lurking around HIH watching trick videos.

I never knew about trick jumping until seeing an insanely old Headlong vid. I can't remember the name of it, but it was old school JTers like Maluu, Erty Derty, Underdogg, etc. doing all sorts of epic partner jumps. I couldn't believe it, here I was, crazy about both Halo 2 and parkour, and here was something that brought the two together.

Thus, I started jumping. I was obviously horrible at first. I met one of those people who changed their gamertags like 40 times a week, so the only one I remember is r3sur3ction. He was a novice jumper as well, but I thought he was pro because he said he used to be in AJC (A Jump Clan).

My first video consisted of 5 or 6 partner jumps on Lockout, lol. It was obviously very "noobish," but hey, we were noobs. People on HIH v2 were (for the most part) very nice and told me it was good for a first video, and offered constructive criticism.

This is where my memory blanks for a bit. I guess I just jumped around happily for a while.

I met FooFoo in a party for the first time. His GT was EvilBunnyFooFoo, and I think he was about 10 years old. I couldn't figure out why everyone in the party seemed to like him, whereas in every other party, people hate the kid with the squeaky voice. I soon learned it was because he was a "pro jumper from HIH." We became friends, and I was soon introduced to Boonmaster. My god, what a character. I think I laughed more in hour-long parties with those two than I did in the days to follow.

Anyway, life was good and jumping was huge. Eventually I ended up in a game of Zombies on Foundation with a bunch of HIHers and cozce. I think I was 13 or 14, and I spent the whole game following him around and screaming "COZ-KEE! COZ-KEE, CAN I SEND YOU A FRIEND REQUEST AND JOIN TEAM FX??????" Yeah. Needless to say, I was politely informed of the correct shape of India.

I made my first solo, completely forgot what it was called. There were some average jumps in there, I believe this was when I moved a step up from the HIH rank of "who the hell is that guy?"

I remember the first HIH Jump Tournament. I was excited for it. After winning the first round (due to the opponent never showing up, lol), I was matched up against someone by the name of "Bowser64." Oddly enough, I had never heard of him before this, so I figured he was just another random who wouldn't be too hard to beat. We were matched on Ivory Tower with Maluu as the judge. I got my ass handed to me JUMPS to nothing. Afterwards, I stayed in the game with Bowser and Maluu (I think he should officially be renamed to AFKealii Maluu) and jumped around a bit, gaining the addition of Bowser64 to my friends list.

While I was involved in jumping, I still pursued all areas of Halo tricking. These were the days when there would be 5 or 6 16-person Headlong launching parties going on at the same time, so needless to say, I wasn't always jumping.

I got really obsessed with System of a Down and for some reason created a clan named after them, SOADProductions. It was mainly just me and a bunch of my friends making forts and crappy machinima. This was around the time I met forevercha0s. To this day, I have no idea how or why he ever put up with me, but he did. Boonmaster and FooFoo may have made me laugh a lot, but with forevercha0s, it was to the point of near suffocation.

Anyway, we had lots of great times in that clan, launching and messing around (Ghost on Headlong pipes). I'll keep this part short, as this post is mainly about jumping. In a nutshell, after messing around and doing a fair amount of vids with SOADProductions, I found myself in a game with DefyLogic, most of whom did not like me at the time. After spending a large amount of time filming Topship for them, they (surprisedly to me) decided to throw a clan invite my way. Upon joining, I was shown the concept of whiplash launching by MUNICIPAL and FooFoo, and quickly became very good at it. I helped out with a number of DL videos, but Whiplash was by far the most enjoyable for me.

Anyway, with all this glitching and cloning and launching going on, I wasn't jumping as much as I had been in the past. I started getting back into it and I put my name in a thread listing HIH jumpers with capture cards who are willing to film for others. One night I got a message from one Demolishmentor7, asking me to film one of his jump challenges. His connection was absolute crap and (at the time) his voice was so high it was a few decibels shy of a dog whistle. He fixed his connection and we ended up jumping a lot together.

When Tombstone and Desolation came out, we instantly created Duo Session #1. People liked it, and during the mad rush that followed to find new jumps on those two maps, we released Duo Session #2. After this, we decided it was time to create our own jumping clan.

In an epic hijack from FooFoo, who had weeks ago been pretending to be Mexican and saying "yumping" instead of "jumping" all the time, we decided to call the clan Yumps. With the addition of PROTONISH, we released Yumps Episode 1. This was the only episode released due to my RRoD a couple months later.

At some point I met Bart8. I can't really remember when, but I know it was quite a long time ago. He was a complete noob to jumping and had enlisted the help of CrazyMidg3t and I from the Jumping Helpers thread. We were hard on him, but that's probably what contributed to him getting good so damn quickly. In a matter of months he went from spending most of his time dead under Lockout to slapping me with 2 or 3 letters in JUMPS games. We quickly began jumping every day and I soon learned that we literally have the exact same taste in music.

Soon he reached my skill level and we'd spend hours upon hours playing JUMPS on lockout, neither of us able to get a letter on each other. I remember a specific game in which after 2 and a half hours, we both had a J. We were running out of jumps so we had to move the game to Ascension. After another hour there, we both had...J! It quickly became apparent that this was one game that would produce no winner, so we just stopped with all the official-ness and kept jumping around.

On the flip side, although I taught him to jump, I had absolutely no idea how to efficiently perform an overjump. His dumb ass was landing them left and right, so he taught me as best he could. There's really not much you can do to tell someone how to overjump (Jump, crouch, let go, jump, crouch), but in a few days I became accustomed to it. The Lockout mid-to-sniper overjump was no longer Bart's handicap in our games.

Anything else I can remember....

-Eating ramen noodles one night while jumping on Tombstone with jagged and getting into a massive debate about whether they were classified as soup or not. This concluded with me insisting that jagged was being chased by Thai people and he should run for his life. It would take a while to outline just how it ended like that, but I guess it makes sense in some sort of "wtf" way.

(As a matter of fact, that debate never concluded. jaggedShrapnel remains pursued by citizens of Thailand. He's been staying low, inconspicuous, moving from place to place. Had a few close run-ins but he's made it out okay.)

-Mman19. Never really a jumper, but we had great times together.

There are probably a ton of other people/things I should be remembering, but I'm pretty tired right now, so I'll update if I remember anything else.

Oh schlapskie, I just saw a group of Thais running down the street. RUN JAGGED!!@!!@

EDITS AS I REMEMBER schlapskie:

-forevercha0s's child molester mic. He had a broken XBL mic for the longest time that made him sound like a creepy pedophile.

I forgot about Mason. froodlenutzkie. I love Mason. Lol.

And, I remember that game on Lockoutscension. Jesus Christ. That was a combination of us being froodlenutzkieing awesome and as good as Ollie(a big steaming pile of dog excrement) in one game... Do you remember that one game(Lol.) on Lockout(Lolol.) when jagged was our judge and I landed those edge ghost vertical curves on the side of BR2 back to back? Then promptly lost the God-damn game on some gay ass bunny slide into lift bou save to pillar juggle 360 to pillar bunny slide juggle to overjump bull schlapskie. froodlenutzkie you.

Also, Team's Lockout Challenge video. *insert 4 year old girl voice here.*

Also also, Benny's old less deep Kentucky accented voice.

I first started jumping after I saw LBYL 1 or 2 (Dont remember).
I first started ghost jumping in the may of 2008 while I was in the hospital because I had to have my leg remove. So while I was trying to hit a ghost jump on High Ground, my heart rate went so high when I landed it and the machine was beeping and I had to get off so it wont beep again and scare the nurse.
So whenever I got back on I could hit the ghost 3 times in a row and I stop playing the xbox till I got home on the next day.
I learned how to do the slide jump a week later. I went on guardian and the first slide jump I ever did was from S3-Elbow.
I didn't have any friends that trick jump so I had to learn how to do ramp and other jump technique by Halo3Helpers (ClearlyMe)
I got better and then I met someone on YouTube that said he is recruiting someone to be in their clan so I sent him a message on there with my GT and have him to add me so I could try out.
He added me and sent me a message.
His GT was Mr Deadly but that was his other account so the account he use now is Dreadfulpatho54 or something like that.
I tried it out and I got in! and then I help him come up with a name for the clan so I said "maybe we could use Vertical Velocity?" and he said "Thats a good name." so the name of the clan was Vertical Velocity. A year later I quit it because we were doing nothing. A month later I joined Sleepy game and I met Itiick (Ishaggy) he asked me to see if I want to join his clan (Jump Limit) I said "Sure!" I got my first Capture Card last Christmas. I couldn't use it without it glitching up because my computer suck but that didn't stop me from making Trick Jump tutorials.
Then later I quit Jump Limit to join my friend's clan WhY WalK.
They were awesome. Envy said he was gonna pay me to make the montage for them but that never happen lol. After awhile I made WhY WalK first trick jumping montage, envy asked me to make him an account with a 1 month on it but I said "no"
and then after he signed into his other account and told me that I am kicked out because I didnt make the account.
Right now i'm making someone a trick jumping montage and don't know if I should make the other montage after that I was talking about earlier because not a lot of people sent me clips for the montage.

Alright folks, here we go.

Shortly after Halo 3 came out, my friend Randombaggins was trying to stack to the top of one of the sandtrap towers when I joined his game. I had no idea what the hell he was doing, and then he explained the concept of stacking to me. He then continued to show me some super basic jumps. We were jumping around on narrows, and he was showing me how to get into the little hooch-type-area places on the sides of the map, when next thing we know, Indapop joins us. Now back then, we thought Indapop was the froodlenutzkieing man. (Not that we don't still think that though...<3indapop) Anyways, indapop continued to show us some jumps and then randombaggins had to go to sleep. So then Indapop took me onto highground and taught me all the basics of jumping. Ghosting, overjumps, ramps, everything. I kept jumping with him and Random for quite a while. Then one day I saw Impulsive Diamonds by Jump Impulse. After seeing that, I thought they were amazing, and sent them all messages asking if I could join. They tried me out, and the leader at the time, Explicit Content, didn't want me in, but everyone else did. Shortly after I was accepted into Jump Impulse, we all broke up. From there I met some more jumpers and later joined Jump Yard. (I think I did at least..I know I joined some clan and didn't stay for long.) After that, I got to know all of the Jump Vision guys. I jumped with them for a while, and later was accepted into JV. In Jump Vision I met one of my best XBL buddies to this day, Dash. He was always struggling to impress us enough to let him in haha. He knew all of our jumps, but we never really thought he was good enough. Eventually he landed some stuff that we decided was alright, so then he officially got in. Me and Dash jumped together alot. After being in JV for a while, I didn't really think it seemed to be going anywhere. I had met Gary UK after being in Jump Vision for a while, he was the first JT member I ever got to know, however I think I met him before he was in JT. I also got to know some of the other JT guys and actually become friends with them. It's funny because way back when I first started jumping, I had joined a game that Captain and jagged were in. Man I thought they were arsonskies haha. I absolutely hated them, and now, Captain and I get along just fine (sometimes :p ) and jagged and I are real good buddies. Well, one day I was jumping around with Fusion, and I believe we were on Sandtrap. He was telling me about how nobody was doing anything in JT and I was telling him about how nobody was doing anything in JV. Somehow we got on the topic of people wanting to join Jump Theory, and I jokingly said I should join. From there Fusion was like, "you should!" And I was like, "wow really? I was just joking." After that we jumped together for the next 3 days literally non-stop. We would stay up until 4 in the morning jumping, decide when we wanted to wake up to try our jumps again the next day, go to sleep, then wake up and jump some more. Those 3 days were honestly some of the most fun as well as frustrating times I've ever had jumping. Unfortunately, Fusion and I rarely jump together anymore. This is mainly due to the fact that for some reason we stopped talking for the most part. (And he got a girlfriend. :p ) Anyways, after a while of jumping/hanging out with the JT crew/having Fusion talk to jagged (bahahaha), They took a vote and I unanimously was accepted. From there I was in The Circatage 2 with them, and well be in Look Before you Leap 3, whenever that comes out. After being in Jump Theory for a while, my good buddy Dash started trying to get in as well. Let me tell you guys. Out of nowhere this kid started landing schlapskie like crazy. It was ridiculous. So after another vote, Dash got accepted into Jump Theory with me. Lately there hasn't been too much going on in Jump Theory other than constant pregnancy scares with Captain and all sorts of stupid clan drama. Anyways, that's my story..not too much to tell really, since I haven't been jumping for all that long.

I guess I'll give this a shot while my macNcheese is cooking...

I got an xbox, Halo 2, & XBL for Christmas in '04. I was in 8th grade at the time and from that point on my friends and I didn't care about anything except getting our ranks up. During the spring of that year my friend Patrick even did his demonstration speech in English class on "Halo 2 Glitches" LOL. Got a C.

Anyways in the fall of '05 I was home sick one day and went online to find superbouncing videos. I came across jumptactics.net and watched the most recent videos posted. Those were, Wooden Foot's Speed Mix 1 and the Leaping Ninjas - Collaboration. Oh my god man I was so jealous of these guys that had taken Halo 2 to a level that I didn't even know existed. Not only that, but they were making videos of it all which I had no idea how to do.

I sent a FR to everyone and the only guy who accepted right away was KoopaTroopa. <3. Then I got a party invite...and there I was. Looking out at the Lockout custom game with InSaNe ZT, Cloud, Sonix, Smith, and Koopa. Watching them jump around just like in their video was incredible, and all I knew is that I wanted to be one of them BADLY. The guy who I watched the closest was Sonix. His jumping skill level at the time was unreal. If you were around then you knew it to. By following in his footsteps and practicing every single day it didn't take me long to get good.

Then I watched the new Jump Monkeys video. "WTF this Z4KK guy is doing slides and blasting off with a rocket launcher!!" (That's me talking). Around this time SystemOFFLINE was in the process of making the warthog launching video Chronicles of Headlong in which he had loads of people stand around his hog and blast him away. I got in on that as much as I could, and then OMG! Z4KK joins the party. I didn't want to come off annoying by being all fanboy like, so I would occasionally smack him in the face with my rocket launcher while we were launching. He returned the smacks to my face, and the rest is history. We were buddies.

A couple Jump Monkeys created a new clan called iHop. My connections with Z4KK got me in tight with them. What a great clan that was. OneEasyKill was the best Overlord we could have asked for and would film us for hours. The original members--> Jackpot-the editor and overall cool guy, Z4KK-the rocket man, SwinginKing-could overjump and ghost off literally anything, Scoringhornet-the little dude who would sing us his rap songs, (red piece of paper ftw) and then I was just Bowser.

We're now at the end of January '06. Jump Tactics was hosting their 2nd JUMPS tournament and EVERYONE had been practicing up for it. This was a big froodlenutzkieing deal and there were SO MANY jumpers back then it's a shame most of them moved on with their lives. Anyways, I was confident that no one could beat me at jumps...on Lockout. The other maps, not so much. My 1st map was against dorro on Ivory Tower with hermanitis (her older brother!) being the judge. The only benefit of that was hermy couldn't go play for his sister and judge at the same time. (hermanitis had multiple tournament wins and was considered the best JUMPS player alive). I beat dorro and moved on to the 2nd round. Had to play Ivory Tower again, but proceeded to spank Team America 1 JUMPS to nothing. <3.

Round 3. This was getting serious. And guess who my next opponent was...froodlenutzkieing hermanitis. I got a FR from Kealii Maluu (OMFG, ik). As Maluu was doing the random map generator I was screaming in my head for it to be Lockout. I knew that was my only chance against hermanitis. AND BAM! Lockout! froodlenutzkie yeah!

In Eminem's Lose Yourself, this is the moment he was talking about. I had one shot, one opportunity...to seize everything I ever wanted. One moment. Would I capture it, or just let it slip? Keep reading.

I don't remember who went first or anything really specific about it. I do remember one of hermy's jumps was a Maluu slide 360, which I felt so proud doing as Maluu watched me. Luckily I didn't have to do any overjumps which I had yet to figure out. Once I got control, I just stuck with the jumps that I KNEW I could do, and eventually he missed a couple. After that the name Bowser64 meant something. I then played Slash RF on Colossus and wasn't at all prepared for that map. Slash was a cool guy though and we became good friends after that. Hilary Duff Tage! He beat me and moved on to the championship against, who? You guessed it, Sonix. Sonix of course won because he's the froodlenutzkieing schlapskie.

With the release of a few iHop episodes my name really got out there. After that I got a capture card and dished out videos like nobody's business. Had a lot of fun in the years to come and wouldn't trade those times for anything.

And that's all I have to say about that.

EDIT: The reason I didn't jump in Halo 3 was the same as Bill down there. It felt weird and jagged was way to good. ;)

Damn, well I'll try....

I got an xbox for christmas '04 w/ Counter Strike. I ended up getting h2 for my bitthday in January '05. I used to watch these H2 tricking videos by the XBLTA. (xbox live tricking association) This led me to HIH. I lurked for a long time being a dumbass and not even realizing there was a forum. I thought HIH was just a frontpage and whatnot. I found the forum section right after they switched to v2 and lurked a little more until I saw Jump Tactics Lockout. I was all like WTF? Shortly after that I saw AJC's Second Video and was all like WTF? So I guess I started jumping around May or June 0f '05. (gezz 5 years ago) The day after I watched AJC's video I meet the coolest British fella by the name of Coot. (Sorry Gary and Reidon) I met him through this mega-douche Quatto... I was starstruck at first. I was like "OMG I JUST WATCHED YOUR VIDEO YESTERDAY. BE MY FRIEND!" Coot being the cool guy that he is accepted my friend request. So I guess I got lucky by getting to jump with one of the striving clans at the time. With people like Haleq, Detrate and Ultio. Through the AJC forums I met some awesome people like Junker, ChampionMasterZ, JetNathanK and ShotugunRomance. Junker and Champion had the idea to make a jump clan. They asked me and I was like Sweet. Our first video was probably the worst thing ever made. It was like 3 minutes long with the very overused breaking benjamin song, blow me away. The clan name at this time was Core Jumpers. Then we realized what that was and changed it to Jumpers Inc. We probably released the first 3 vids in a month or so. They were all pretty terrible. But, since the jumping community was relatively small. I have played with some of the better jumpers of the time. People in JT, Jump Fiends, TeamDirtyTricks and Jumptacular. At this point jumping basically took over my life. We released our 4th video that was a little better. During the Whole summer we started filming for our 5th video. We took everyone's advice and took our time with this one. Jumptacular Turf came out while we were taking a break. This video was insanely good. We decided to go after jumptacular and try to tackle Turf and Zanzibar. Once we released the video it was great. It was actually a pretty solid video at that time in jumping. It even made it to the front page. This got our name out there as a serious clan. But after that video, we slowed down alot. I think this is when Jump Fiends had a little bit of a fall. So SilverShadow, me and Ultio made a new clan. It was called Halo Antics. We only made one video as a clan but man was it a good one. This was probably one of my favorite videos I've ever been in. A solid old school video. While I was doing this Junker and Champion were making their own solid video, Jumpers Inc 6. I don't think either video was well praised because it came out at about the same time another JT video did. Of course JT was going to get the most looks. They were JT. Jumping in H2 started to slow down a whole lot. I was going to put all of my jumps that I had into Jump Fiends 8. Silvershadow was going to make this one. But, then he didn't? I was playing with some guy named jackpot? lol He told me that he need some people for iHop 3. So I put my jumps in that video. iHop3 ended up being huge! It was basically a community video with the amount of guests and everything. Then H3 came out... I gave jumping a try at first, but I wasn't felling it at all. So I just didn't jump in H3. Junker was making another H2 video at the time. Junker's Inc. I had a few H2 jumps still so I was going to be in that video. Junker ended up giving me a bunch of his jumps because he finds jumps like crazy. This was the last halo jumping video I was in. I watched all of the "new kids" emerge onto the H3 scene, pretty much most of you guys that are here now. I was going to try and make an H3 video after the game has been out for a while, but I just sucked compared to the people I played with like jagged and Gary. So I decided to go back into lurk mode and just watch everything related to h3. Videos by Jump Theory made H3 worth watching for me. I've been around the jump community for 5 years... I remember when it was basically long jumps, curves, ghosts, etc. My my, how things have changed.

Long post. H2 all day. <3

Ugh, not very many memories...

I really am not sure how i got sucked into this jumping schlapskie. I think maybe acid rainbow or someone had something to do with it. I made a modded jumping map, and soon everybody was trying to mooch off of loo for a modded jump gametype. Almost filled up my friends list. A community jump video was supposed to come out, so i landed 2 half-assed jumps in probably 30 minutes. Then i stopped jumping cuz it was so boring. I tried to get into project air so i could make fun of pillowchub for being able to get into his clan. The main obstacle in my way was that I didn't jump at all. That irish fellow was all like "Loo, why would I let you in my jumping clan if you don't jump?" He had a good point. So, I decided I would start some intense jumping and get some thing landed. I dedicated myself to only landing jumps. 1 day later, had nothing landed, gave up to play trials HD. Happy ending: I eventually landed a few cool jumps (even if they have to go in that crappy final community video.) Horay!

Awww. How bla of you.

Personally, I don't have that many memories. I started out jumping in H3 after I saw LBYL1. I taught myself mostly (through watching all of the older videos like Shraptain 1/2, Horizons 1/2, Gary's Jumping for Funs, and Jump for Joy 1/2), with some help from KnightxofxLight's jump tutorial videos. Personally, I thought I was pretty good, but I knew I was no where near where the people in those videos were at. So, I got to work on landing some jumps, my creativity was at an all time low back then, and I didn't know what to do with them. I looked around on Youtube (didn't know about HIH by then), and saw something from ClearlyMe about him making a video where you can submit stuff in. I thought that I might be able to get some of my stuff seen, so I starred in a couple of his videos. I soon left Clearly and his quest for jumping glory, and I joined some of my friends who were also interested in trick jumping. We started what would be known, or not known, as Jump Hijinks. We started landing a lot of stuff, planning on making a team video. And then the big bomb LBYL2 crashed. We saw that, and we were like "Whoa, and we thought our jumps were good..." We still planned to make the video, but the person who decided to film and edit for us was too lazy. Around this time, I found HIH, and started becoming part of the jumping community. I look back now at how I acted then, and I am quite ashamed at some of my behavior. Anyhow, I started becoming more known by some of you guys, and then I proposed the idea of Walk-Off Wonders. The video was fun to make, even if it didn't have quite the content of what I hoped, and I had a blast doing it. Through this video, I met more of the jumping community, and I met Caleb and some of his BTB friends. I started hanging out with Caleb and TBland A LOT, and a few weeks later, I showed some of my better jumps to Caleb, and boom I was in BTB. I realize now that some of the people in the group found it quite odd that some random scrandom had just joined there group. Which it was quite odd, but I was in anyway, and I was looking forward to being a part of Vertical Limit 2. Then, it was just like someone changed the channel in the group; it went from a comedy to a soap opera. A lot of drama started going on in the group, and sooner or later, Caleb left BTB. BacktoBasiks was in shambles, and it just didn't feel right without Angels as our leader. So, I left BTB, going solo, and since, I have been having some fun, and hectic jumping times with Caleb, who is the best jumping partner I ever had. Hopefully, I will be around next year to make some more memories with Halo: Reach, and maybe make a few more this year with H3.

Agreed. Caleb is the best partner. And for me it stopped being fun around the time MW2 came out. No more Lance, Logan, Tbland. Resix got pissed at Logan. Etc... End of BtB fun.
