Halo 3 Campaign Conquered Zero Shot

I've spent the last few months attempting to beat the entire Halo 3 campaign on Legendary without shooting and without dying. No one had ever completed Sierra 117, Crow's Nest, The Covenant, or The Ark, and at first I wasn't sure it was even possible.

Now, I have completed the entire campaign Zero Shot, with 8 of 9 record speedruns (didn't even try to beat Rorcin's Floodgate 3:41). Check out my fileshare for the videos, they are all worth watching:

This marks the first game in the Halo series to be completed this way. IMO, it was much more difficult than Mythic/SLASO. Think about the Sierra jackal snipers, or the Nest drones, or Scarabs, or entire rooms of Brutes without being able to fire a single bullet.

So please, enjoy the show. The sum total is less than 3 hours (2 hours, 54 minutes, and 53 seconds to be precise). At 2x speed on your theater, that's less than 1.5 hours, like an everyday movie but more BA.

I will soon be contacting Bungie to get this on the blog and I want to spread the word to other sources, perhaps HBO, G4 TV, and/or Guinness. What do you guys think?

And of course, let me know what you think of the films.

Note 1: Unfortunately, there is no verification of shooting on the Game Stats. You have to watch the films to see that I don't shoot. Also, I enabled Iron Skull on all missions so you know I didn't die. The only exception is Halo, where I was doing a practice run where I expected deaths and I never died. Watch the film to see.

Note 2: I followed HSH's description of Zero Shot here: "Zero Shot runs for Halo 3 are the same as normal runs, but with a couple extra rules: Grenades and Melees ONLY; Energy Sword, Gravity Hammer and Equipment are fully allowed; must be Legendary Single Player; Campaign Scoring and The Iron Skull must be turned on (no deaths). You may drive vehicles, but cannot shoot them yourself. You may have a marine or elite in your gunner seat who is shooting. Special Rule: Due to the reasons stated in this forum post (http://highimpacthalo.org/forum/show...9&postcount=10) we consider the Killing of 343 Guilty Spark during the Halo Mission to be an "Active Cut Scene" and not part of regular game play. Therefore the shooting of 343 Guilty Spark will be allowed for a Zero Shot Halo run."

Congratulations. That's a very nice accomplishment.
Expect some competition on those times though. : )

Haven't watched your Sierra 117 video yet. But during the Sniper Forest if the Arbiter dies, you can take his sword and it helps with meleeing the Snipers a little bit.

I'll be sure to check out the videos a bit later tonight. I want to see how you dealt with some parts of The Ark and Crow's Nest.

Hey, can someone(hopefully you, or a group of people) cap this, and Throw them all in a single download(possibly a torrent)? This looks incredible, but sadly I don't have enough space for all of the films on my HD(100 file limit is really stupid). I could delete some stuff. but there are other things to deal with that I can't delete, any way around the file cap?

i can get some of the quicker ones capped and upload them on my youtube channel if you want..

Sweet. Can you also drop on a Download link from a file sharing site(just not megavideo), that way we can download them as youtube greatly lowers the quality of videos. Than you, this will be helping a lot of people out, and will make it easier for me to watch the runs.

haha definitely not single segment, that would require luck beyond the probability that the universe was created exactly at it was to sustain life.

Wicked. I'd nearly pathed a couple of these ages ago, just never got around to making a concerted effort to complete it.

I'll be interested to see how you handled things. Particularly parts of the Ark and Covenant.
