![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Alright guys, sorry if this is a disappointment, but I don't think I'll be able to be updating this every day. And it seems like you all are way ahead of me when it comes to getting tips out, so forgive me for no longer making this topic an ease to check, but the last page of the topic seems to always have tips, and if it doesn't, just ask and either I or another forum member will be able to help. ;) Again, I apologize, but being busy with a bunch of other things has had me pretty occupied recently. Might be able to get this back up and going sometime, but for now, I'll leave it at this. OLD POST:

this is a pretty awesome idea for a thread. I like.
So long as we get it updated consistently. You don't have to type everything out yourself, but I'm sure people will contribute their ideas |

I really dig this idea, the only problem is most of the dailies are not really worth going out of your way for them unless you just happen to get them in the playlist your are already playing. I honestly think they should double all of the rewards from challenges. Along with the fact that the firs weekly (that lasted like 3 days) was to complete the campaign and you only got 5000. Overall not worth it, however a nice edition to those who beat it off the bat.

Guess after so long I'll shorten up the descriptions or even just omit some of the more obvious ones. Maybe even have just a general way to get the "Kill X amount of enemies in any game mode," ones, because honestly, Gruntpocalypse is the answer to all of those.

I think this is a great idea for a thread, but to be good I think, it would need to be stickied and have moderators keeping track of it, so they can edit/add stuff when you're not available.

This week's challenge was beating a single campaign level on Legendary, I got it within 30 mins of seeing it, not really worth a whole week just sitting there you know? |

Aha, yeah. Campaign on Heroic and Play 30 Matches were both actually week-long experiences for some people... A level of Legendary can be done in a quarter of an hour. :P
Perhaps the thread should be organized into two sections. Firstly, the best method to get each type of challenge. So the best method for killing elites in campaigns, grunts in campaigns, elites in FF, grunts in FF, x weapon kill in x gametype, etc. Then secondly, a log of all the daily/weekly challenges (hopefully updated each morning lol). That way you could boot up Reach, realize there are challenges you're not sure of the best way to get, hop on HIH. Simply look at log, match with best method in thread and voila you did it. Just a thought. :) |

28th of September
Daily Challenges: SHOOTIN' AND LOOTIN' - 1500 cR (150 kills in any game mode) comes together with the rest of the challenges SURVIVOR - 1200cR (7 sprees in a single Firefight game) Play a game of Score Attack (Gruntpocalypse should be fairly easy) Weapon sprees also count, so pick the shotgun right away, make 15 grunt-kills and you should already have 4/7 sprees. Kill another 25 enemies after that without dying and you should be done. A killing spree takes 10 kills. PUT YOUR QUARTER UP - 1000cR (Complete 10 games in multiplayer Matchmaking) Should be self-explanatory. No need to even win the games, just take part. CLOSE TALKING - 600cR (Earn 40 kills with close quarters combat in multiplayer Matchmaking) While you are playing those 10 games for the previous challenge you can as well just go for this one. I don't know if sword or hammer kills will count (probably not), but assassinations and single-hit beatdowns from behind do! Play Multi Team and you will be able to get a looooot of assassinations if you are an intermediate to good player. EDIT: Obviously shotgun and sword kills as well as hammer kills do all count for this one. That's it for today, have fun :)

For Survivor it would be more efficient to get 10 shotgun kills, die, then get 15 shotgun kills. This minimizes both kills and time.

Thanks for today's update lagg0r. Been a bit busy so I couldn't get them up in time.
![]() Pretty much my exact methods, but I wouldn't have thought to do multi team for the melee kills... I'll have to try that... EDIT: Updated OP with today's challenges. |

Melee kills were really easy to get in Elite Slayer on Multiteam. I was just running around hitting people with a plasma pistol charge followed by a melee.

Multi Team is good for camping with weapons like shotgun or sword (although I hate camping, this is probably the method most players would prefer...)
Also in gametypes like Oddball or Headhunter there is lots of cqb going on around the skull(s). |

Quick question for all of you. Do you think it would be a good idea to keep previous days' challenges, or just paste over them as the days go by?
And btw guys, yes, sword/hammer kills do count towards melee kills. :) |

I would keep the old challenges posted in a spoiler tag formatted like this:
September 2010 ... going on with October, November, December After being finished with 2010 put all that in another spoilertag like a pull-down menu for 2010 I would still keep the recent day's tips & tricks out of all the spoilers and in the very beginning of the first post. Whenever the first post is updated again, just move it into the spoiler-archive where it should go. I would love to help you working this out, but I'm on vacation for the next 3 weeks... If you don't keep up with it, I will definetely be disappointed, because it's such a great idea. ![]() |

I was thinking about using spoiler tags... I already wiped yesterday's, but oh well. Have to start somewhere, right?
But yeah, I'll definitely start doing that. I'll probably start putting up some typical challenge tips either above or below the whole post just to get some of the mundane ones out of the way. I should be on daily though to keep this updated, so no need to worry... ![]() |

September 29th - It's all about the 7
MORE THAN A HANDFUL - 750cR (kill 77 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking) You'll probably get this the fastest way in Rumble Pit since you actually need to have 25 kills to win the Slayer games, but games like Headhunter or Oddball can take forever too and you can make a lot of kills during these, because everybody will mostly ignore you to rush to certain spots (the oddball itself for example) ON TILT - 500cR (complete a campaign mission with the Tilt skull turned on on Heroic or Legendary) Winter Contingency would be by far the easiest for this one. Rush through the entire map until you have to defend the marines, secure the landing zone, fly along with the falcon and just wait inside the room for Kat to lock the door (you don't even need to fight the enemies at either spot, the other Spartans will do) After following the elites, grab a DMR from the wall next to you, kill the grunts and jackals with grenades/headshots and grab the first plasma pistol you can get hold of for taking out the elites shields (Tilt will make shielded opponents almost invulnerable to human projectiles). The very last elite with the sword will need 2 fully charged plasma pistol shots until the shield will drop (even on Heroic) - be warned. Took me ~18 minutes because of all the waiting sequences. MULTIPLIER - 1200cR (Earn 5 multikills in a single multiplayer Matchmaking game) This is a tough one. You'll probably want to go for a game of SWAT, although this would still be pretty hard if you are an average gamer. All I can say for sure is that if you for example get an Overkill (4 kills) it will count for 3 / 5 multikills because it has 3 multikill medals in it (double, triple and overkill). The only helpful thing to say to this one is "Aim for the head!" and "Don't assassinate people." (Assassinations take too long to fit into the 3 seconds and also you are very vulnerable to anything that's coming near you. Only a quick tap on the B-button can help here -> you will only assassinate a person the oldschool way and not perform one of those style-assassinations) I'd prefer the Multi Team playlist or Rumble Pit. OOPS! ALL KILLS - 777cR (Earn 7 multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking) Should go well together with the challenge above. This one counts all the games you do on this very day, so there is not a lot of pressure. A double kill in this game, a triple in another and after some games you should be done with it. (probably even before you will reach the 77 multiplayer kills) ___________________ Here comes today's update and this one will be my last for a few weeks. Your thread is your's now again Fortune ![]() (and sorry for the double-post) |

lagg0r, you're all over this! Thanks for all the updates. I'm sitting at work right now, so I haven't been able to go on today, but all these quick updates really do help!
From the looks of it, today's are going to suck... >.< I'm so close to Captain and this does NOT help... Updated OP with Today's challenges and older challenges are in spoilers. |

I think that instead of making there be one weekly challenge and five daily challenges that vary and whatnot, just have say, three challenges in firefight, three in campaign, and three in multiplayer, and then two weekly challenges per week.
Anyone else? |
