Cool Once again, AC/DC. - 04-05-2011 , 02:58 AM

A radio DJ once called them the comfort food of music. That's absolutely what they are.

Simple-minded lyrics, predictable formula. But almost every song of theirs ROCKS like nothing else!

Until recently, they were severely under-promoted in the North American mainstream media (they've always been revered in Europe & South America). Rarely on magazine covers, ranked very low in best songs/albums/performers lists, only their absolute most popular songs got radio play, unlike The Rolling Stones, Metallica, and Aerosmith.

They have the second highest selling album of all time (behind Michael Jackson's Thriller), and the third highest grossing tour of all time (even more impressive knowing that the tickets were only $100 each!).

I'd like to see anyone else play the guitar perfectly while running, jumping, and writhing on the floor!

Phil may be the least flashy drummer on the planet, but his groove is just out of this world!

Y'wanna know why Brian Johnson sounds so coarse? Because he's never actually sung - he always screams!

And the late, great, Bon Scott - nothing but women, booze, & rock 'n' roll for this guy!

The songs that everyone knows & likes:

It's A Long Way To The Top
T.N.T.
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Problem Child
Sin City
Highway To Hell
Girls Got Rhythm
Shot Down In Flames
Hells Bells
Shoot To Thrill
Back In Black
You Shook Me All Night Long
Rock 'n' Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
For Those About To Rock

The Jack
High Voltage
Big Balls
Jailbreak
Dog Eat Dog
Let There Be Rock
Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be
Whole Lotta Rosie
If You Want Blood
Hard As A Rock

The songs that big fans know & like:

Rocker
Bad Boy Boogie
Rock 'n' Roll Damnation
Riff Raff
Gone Shootin'
Walk All Over You
Touch Too Much
What Do You Do For Money Honey
Let's Get It Up
Flick Of The Switch
Sink The Pink
Heatseeker
That's The Way I Wanna Rock 'n' Roll
Big Jack

The songs that the HARDCORE fans (I, a member of that group) know & like:

Soul Stripper
Can I Sit Next To You Girl
Ain't No Fun Waiting 'Round To Be A Millionaire
Overdose
Down Payment Blues
Up To My Neck In You

I approve of this thread, I need to expand my AC/DC collection, sitting at about 90 songs right now.

I still don't like AC/DC. I just can't stand the sound of 'em. :/

Years. YEARS. That's what I've given this site. It's been hilarious and maddening, mind numbing and thought provoking, moments of astonishment and headaches. The best thing this site has given me one the best community on the 'net. HIH will always be unparalleled.

Thanks for everything, you will be sorely missed.

I don't listen to AC/DC much, but I do like Bryan Johnson's voice.
