Happy late birthday, HIH!
I guess it shows our age a little, since this is the first year that no one on staff (me included) realized another year had passed for HIH. On April 4, 2004, High Impact Halo (with graphics that would make Mario wince)
went live.
A few days ago, she turned 4 years old.
FooFoo reminded us of this, and I just saw his thread a few minutes ago.
Back then, Halo 1 had been out for years, Halo 2 was simmering on the horizon, and a small group of trickster nutcases were still playing around, doing cool things with the beloved original.
At that point, HIH was comprised of 2 or 3 html pages, and a handful of videos, hosted almost completely by mythica. Things are...different now. :) Many things have changed, but WHY we're here hasn't. Our goal now is the same as it was then - provide a place for like-minded Halo lovers to have fun playing awesome games, and collaborating on interesting new ways to waste time. :)
Thanks to everyone who's helped make this a fun four-year journey.

Perhaps it's time you learnt to link properly, and stop trying to make it look like you have a signature. 1.7TB won't do anything for you when your provider forces you to pay over $9000 (yes, internet pun.) in overages due to bandwidth usage.

Um, I just had a typo, and I do have 17TB of bandwidth every month.

rofl - you might want to read your
terms of use. They can limit that pretty much any way they want, if you're exceeding what they consider to be your fair share of resources.
Given that the terms specifically state that you'll need to consider a dedicated hosting plan if you exceed your allotted resources, it's safe to say that your site is hosted on a single, shared machine.
In order to use 17 TB/month, you have to AVERAGE 55 Mbit/sec CONTINUOUSLY for 30 days. This is pretty much impossible on anything smaller than a gigabit switch (which you're not on). (Technically, it can be done on a megabit switch - but 1) I've never seen a usage pattern that would actually REACH 17 TB/month on that sort of connection, and 2) my informal tests suggest that you're capped at 20Mbit anyway.)
I guarantee you that if you exceed even 3 TB/month, for two or more months, someone will contact you and tell you you're violating their terms of service.
I'm not saying you have a bad deal - $5 for pretty much unlimited disk space and a boatload of bandwidth is a great deal - but don't think you can actually max out what they're offering - because they're not really offering it.

I guess that means it'll be near my 4th year being here any day now :) I joined not too long after HIH went up.
I miss the old days still, but an effort to make sure HIH Tricking doens't do some weird "Main Stream" thing is working :D

Ah... I'm not too far away from my three years here then; I found this website in a magazine, and the page i was reading was about when your on the last level of halo2, you get to the part where the hunters are trapped and you free them to let them do all the work. I had no H2 at the time, but was hoping for it soon! So, I decided to check out the website since my XBOX (Original (There was no 360 then)) had blown a fuse (I later found out that it also took a $hit and dumped all my memory) and then I came here to look at your terrible webpage interface, and found the still disputed "Warthog Hump" in the H1 forums... Against all odds, I was hooked;) If someone could post a link here that takes me to the warthog hump (It'll be in the H1 forum) that'de great, as it has a strange sentimental value to me:confused: ...
I think in November it'll be my 4th year here, funny thinking back to DarkHelmet's side seat sword flying video on outskirts that essentially changed my life :/
