Into the Halo 2 Cairo cutscene room - done
Another long-time and seemingly impossible tricking goal has, like T2T, succumbed to the sheer force of will from a Halo tricking community that simply refused to give up on it. Many people from the Halo 2 tricking days have contributed to this challenge over the years, and it was very recently
completed by DrBizz.
Since I’ve never been as knowledgeable as I’d like regarding Halo 2 tricking, CoD15 (via the HIH Facebook group) stepped up to help me describe the significance of the accomplishment:
“On the 2nd level, Cairo Station, at the very end of the level there is a room below the final playable area of the game that's reserved for the final cutscene where Master Chief opens the doors to the space station and grabs hold of the covenant bomb, sending him out of the ship with it.
This is the cutscene I'm referring to:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpByy8bRzyoFor roughly 10 years, trickers have worked on trying to get themselves into this "cutscene room." Many have tried, many have failed. It's Halo 2's equivalent (effort-wise) of Halo 1's T2T.”
Well done DrBizz, and congrats to the community as a whole for sticking it out for this one. Definitely worthy of unfreezing the cryo tank for just a moment.

DrBizz is one of the best trickers to come out. Hes accomplished major achievements and has kept the Halo 2 tricking community alive. Huge congratulations to him for defeating this challenge and props to everyone who was there to help and support.
Well done buddy.
Where's the "pickle"? Leave it behind?
Congratz DrBizz!
'There are those who said this day would never come.. What are they to say now?'
I can only say, this is probably the greatest trick that has ever been done. DrBizz has worked on the setup for over a year, so make sure to check out the videos of the setup and the background when they are released.
It's amazing how, after almost 10 years, this challange finally gets completed. So many thoughts and so much persistence have gone into this to finally make it work.
Congratulations to DrBizz, you are one of the greatest and most inspiring trickers ever.
HIH.... It feels so good to post here once again.
Thanks Duke, awesome being here one last time.
Again, congratulations on pulling off this master piece of a trick! This definitely deserves to be engraved in here on HIH, alongside of T2T :)
It also feels great to post here again!
It's nice to be here again. Great job on completing this awesome trick, Bizz.
Even after all the years I've been a part of this amazing community, it's still mind blowing to me to see how far we can push the games we love.
This is the place that truly made me believe that anything you set your mind to is possible. That in and of itself is absolutely invaluable to me, and this trick alone is a shining example of the lunacy that inspires that mindset.
Thank you for never giving up, and thank you for doing HIH justice.
Feels nice to get a chance to post again. Thank god for the HIH Facebook page helping to spread this.
I remember spending hours attempting this back in 2007 or so, and eventually thought it was a lost cause. Its amazing to that there are community members here still attempting some of the oldest tricks out there. Wonderful work! And I am so happy to see this legitimately completed.
The fact that there is still stuff being accomplished in Halo 2, and not the newer Halo titles, really goes to show how amazing of a game this was for glitching. It is a shame we do not even have a quarter of the stuff to do in Halo 4 tricking-wise. There is always the future, however. Who knows what will get thrown at us.
Great job again Bizz!
Feels good to be back on HIH even for this short time.
Holy hell! What an incredible job well done.
Kudos to you for all the hard work
On a side note, it feels amazing to be posting here again <3

Congratz DrBizz!
He doesn't need a bomb, he's got an extra Spartan!
New challenge, cutscene room single-player!
I was never very knowledgeable about the specifics of this trick, however I do know that it was insanely difficult. With that being said, it's absolutely incredible that this has been pulled off. Congrats for kicking this challenges ass, and a big thanks to Duke for letting us on here to post one last time. Feels good to be here again!
Fantastic work Dr. Bizz, and thanks for the post Ducain.
Posting here on HIH is such amazing nostalgia. Man, THE FEELS!
Not sure if I should be sad or happy, but regardless this is a moment to go down in the history books.
Halo Tricking forever.
Damn it feels weird to be posting on this account again... A little dirty actually.
SuperWaffle here. And As I said before bizz, you have closed a chapter of tricking history that started almost a decade ago. You will be mentioned with the great halo 2 trickery like due lies, grumpy, POTS, and countless others over these last 10 years.
Relish in your accomplishment. You earned it for sure. I'm so proud of you. I knew if this would ever be done, it would be done by you. So I think we all would like to thank you for not giving up.
I don't know what else to say really. Except thanks. Let's celebrate!
p.s: looking through my old posts feels like looking at a totally different person.
T2T and the cutscene room, after lurking for so long I can't believe they're actually done. Congrats to bizz. I'm surprised it happened but not surprised it was you that pulled it off.
After years and years of attempts. Someone finally did it.
Congratulations!!
This was absolutely incredible!!!
If anyone is wondering, here is the link to the facebook group for HIH members to keep up with each other. It stays decently active but not overbearing!

This is a statement to and by gamers and trickers alike that truly anything is possible when we dedicate ourselves to our respective crafts. This is a feat that has been a culmination of years of hard work and dedication and it's only fitting that it got it's shout out here, a site build on it's community and talented trickers.
Even now, after years of cryo-sleep, we all gather to praise the determination of the community as a whole. This isn't just a win for Bizz. This is win for all of us as a community and it's a bittersweet victory. I find myself asking "What now?"
Bizz is one of the best damn trickers I've ever seen. I'm sure that this accomplishment will fuel his love for tricking and drive him to take on new challenges much like the Cutscene Room. Cheers, Bizz.
It feels good to post here again. Even if it is just temporary. And thanks for the mention, Duke. Hopefully this won't be the last time HIH opens it's doors for a special occasion. There are always more miracles to perform!
Sleep tight, HIH. We'll wake you when we need you.
Where to begin? How do you really describe a trick?
I had just watched the video of MisterMonopoli's speedrun of Halo 2 at AGDQ when I saw this video linked on the HighImpactHalo Facebook page. It grabbed my attention. My wife had sat down next to me, and I confused her by explaining the video as best as I could, with no preparation that anything of the sort was coming.
"He's overloaded the games memory, to make a weaponless enemy that can't harm him, so he can carry a checkpoint. You see, the grenades stick to the boxes when they land on the box. So you can move the box yourself and carry a ton more grenades that you normally could anywhere in the map. He has to have one player stare at the grenades to prevent them from despawning from memory. He's using GruntBirthdayParty, a skull or powerup that allows him to have overshields so he can do these grenade jumps. He's used a method called BAWing. Uh, basically he puts himself between weak geometry in the level and an explosion, and it can push him through the wall, into places that can't normally be reached."
Nostalgia. Holy cow, the waves of nostalgia. I gravitate towards the Halo runs the most when I know they're coming, but I was not expecting someone to do the impossible. Who else here spent hours riding on the backs of jetpack elites? How many of you laid eyes on the room from outside of Cairo Station on your own Xbox, and wondered 'How?'.
There are tricks that seem like a simple thing at first glance, but are much more intense in terms of actual work needed. If T2T was Halo's Holy Grail, than this trick is The Ark of Halo 2. To those of us who were here for HIH's glory days, this is an important part of our history. This is a missing link of Halo, a trick loved and loathed.
To put this all into perspective, I had to go back, I had to see just how long this question of how to get in has been around. The first post I could find with the question in the title was
this one, posted by guns_n_cars on Nov 12, 2004, 3 days after Halo 2 was released. There were already trick videos being posted. 40 megabyte videos were considered large, and streaming video was almost always out of the question. Youtube wouldn't exist for another 4 months.
Let that sink in. We've wanted to see this since before Youtube.
I am so lucky to have been a part of such a great community. Seriously guys, we made history, and we're still making history. The people doing the tricks and speedruns today are true pioneers, and not just in terms of in-game exploration. You guys are all making history by playing this game and sharing your knowledge and love. When our grandchildren as us what the beginning of the internet looked like, we can point to this site and say to them, this is what it was like for me. It was a community of like-minded individuals who could connect on a global scale over anything and everything. I was there, I was a part of it, and it was fricking beautiful.
Thanks so much for everything guys!
This is incredible!
It's amazing to see so much work finally pay off.
Absolutely fantastic work Bizz!
It's crazy how it feels SO close to impossible, but you have that feeling it can somehow be done, and after 9 years of discussing the room you found a way and pulled it off! You're one of the best trickers I know. Mad chocolate cookies for you sir!
[SIZE="1"">ps: Logging in to a forum felt never this nostalgic! Miss this place, but thanks everyone for this great community and the fun times!
Didn't know you, Bizz, but I definitely know the difficulty of this trick. You're a legend.
Wow...such a huge amount of nostalgia, posting in an HIH thread again...
Great job. In my opinion, this is Halo 2's most significant campaign trick, considering the many years it's been attempted. Thanks, Duke, for unlocking HIH, even if only for a few moments. I often find myself remembering the good ol' days, and it's great to be able to make one last post here.
Again, DrBizz, amazing job cracking this trick. I will always have love for all you guys. Until next time! =)
it's so awesome to be posting here again, even if it's just a once in a blue moon it's still special.
associating that face with the accomplishments you've done makes everything you did even more badass
anyway back on topic: this is incredible, it is literally impossible to overstate how amazing this is, I wish I could put my amazement in words but I simply can't, it's that amazing! Congratulations DrBizz, you have been a tricking giant for a while now, and every challenge you crush under your feet makes you taller, may you go on to crush many more.
Again, this is absolutely incredible and I can't offer any amount of congratulations that would match the effort and time put into completing this. Well done x1,000,000 :D
On another note, it almost brings a year to my eye with all the nostalgia of watching a Halo trick video with everyone back on HIH to comment on it. This community will forever be my favourite. Love you guys.
<3
assuming the post flechette found was the first one and that the timezones match than it took 9 years, 1 month, 22 days, 10 hours and 9 minutes for this challenge to be complete.
yes, I'm crazy
Great job, Bizz. You can retire in style now!
Holy crap. Seeing a picture of Grumpy is almost as great as the trick itself! Dude your selfie level is at 1000. It's funny that it is exactly how I imagined you would look.
Wow. This is great to see accomplished. It is amazing to see the tricks that haunted HIH to finally be pulled off so long after its shutdown. It feels great to post here again. Much love to my High Impact Family and I hope life is going well for all of you.
Cheers
When I came to enter my username and password I didn't quite believe that it would let me log in, but here we are! (That and I wasn't sure I remembered my password lol)
This is an amazing accomplishment! I never tricked much (because I wasn't very good at it) but I always loved watching you folks get it done. Congrats DrBizz!
Long live HIH
I think flechette wins the first ever POTS Post As Poetry award. That was nice man.

Heh. Mythica hadn't yet emerged as our dominant video platform. We still had a picapic vs putfile thing going on and one of those ended up in a little fiasco. Good times.
In any case in the absence of Lone Starr finishing another ancient challenge, Two Johnsons on a single BBT, what trick is next? What the next powerful behemoth to be felled by the great and mighty Halo tricking community?
Oh man, yesterday I started crying tears of pure joy and tears of sadness. Then this morning I read through everything again and here I am sobbing again. I guess I'm just a stupid old man. What we had can never be recreated but this little refresher comes pretty close...if even for a couple of days.
Maybe fletch's post should be FP, lol.
I've seen professional Mongolian contortionists do that. (hahahahaha that edit o bgjfioyo)
This is incredible! It's insane to read that this challenge has been around for that long, and Dr.Bizz had the determination and mad skills to pull it off. It's amazing to still be able to be elated over a Halo 2 feat. Well done!
...posting on here is also making me s'happy and misty-eyed :D
This is just incredible. I was never a campaign tricker, I never had the patience for it, and this just SCREAMS patience and planning. I applaud you.
As for HIH coming out of Cryo, I was almost not going to post anything, and just let it be. Its been years since I have tricked, and with a wife and kid now, gaming is not my focus any more. (Blasphemy I know.) I figured that since I have moved on, there is no reason to go back and post again.
Then I though about it. For 6ish years, (first as Recon117 then as Brain Virus) you guys were my friends. You were my digital family and I love you guys (and girls). You were the friends that I talked to when I had bad days. You were the friends that I wanted to tell first when good things happen. I miss you guys and everything you were to me.
We fought the fight
The battles won
Time to go now
And face the sun
Be brave soldier
This is not the end
Forever in heart
You will be my friend
I may not see you again
So keep your batteries fresh
And never forget
Halo is in our flesh
Nice to post here and see everyone again =) It's been a long time. Lots of great memories here. Congratulations, Bizz! It's nice to see this trick finally put to rest.
Hey I remembered my password!
Huge Congrats DrBizz! I was wondering when this Holy Grail was going to be cracked.
Very impressive. It's amazing to think about how fast time has flown. I remember this challenge coming about... crazy to think how long ago that was. Wow, just insane to think about.
Thanks for the closure and nostalgia.
Congratulations.
So glad it wasn't a modder this time
Good to see this trick completed after so many years and so many attempts. Great work DrBizz on a trick truly worth unfreezing the website.
I never thought I would be able to post a comment on High Impact Halo. After so many of my friends welcoming me into the online tricking scene around 2011 I kept hearing the legends of HIH and how amazing it was. Now, 4 years later I am here after completing the big bad cairo cutscene room and I humbly thank each an every person that made this what it was, and for the diehards who kept the passion to trick and explore this game alive well after cryo.
This was a monumental task. The hours I spent researching the room and everything that went into this project are countless. Long hours down dead end paths were routine. I read old threads, looked for hours on YT for videos, and most importantly worked with all of my friends and those willing to help. I was the physical vessel for this, but all of you were the spirit and will driving me. One man playing a video game alone in his room is one thing, but the presence of hundreds of creative and talented friends and fans rooting for him is so much more. That meant everything to me, knowing that you all were watching.
I am looking back on my time with this crazy game and how much it has been an amazing part of my life. A 21 year old kid goes on a killing spree with a shotgun on Ivory Tower, and 8 years later he gets into a room not accessed before by anybody for almost 10 years. You cannot escape your destiny.
I am crushed to have missed the golden HIH years, but waking this sleeping giant from it's slumber for showing the best trick I will ever do may have been worth it. As I type these words I'm still standing in the room staring at the other player, hearing the quiet explosions outside the station. Funny thing is, all I did was get into an empty room, but we all know what it is really in here.
My brother was the other player running around the hangar with me. He literally had never picked up a controller to play Halo before and the first, and only thing he did was run around in this room. He quickly asked, "How do you get out?"
-Bizz
Awesome. This last couple of days has been fun.
Its pretty awesome to see these things being done after all these years. Also awesome to see some old names posting here again.
This is fantastic! A huge congratulations to you for completing one of the most sought after challenges in Halo history.
This is so god damn awesome, great job dude.
I miss HIH so much!
<3!!!!!
A thought: if any completed challenge is 9+ years in the making...we're getting old. :)
It's good to be able to see bizz post on HIH. I don't know how to describe it, but it seems things have gone full circle.
Alright, we'll see you guys later! Been fun to pole my head in here one more time.
It's Fk'n insane the amount of thought and planning that has gone into this trick. Props all around and especially to DrBizz who some how pulled it off. Nicely done my man. Never thought I'd be posting on HIH again but I'll be damned if this isn't diserving!

Lol, there's another big one brewing, b2t of the H2 QZ Index Chamber. It could take another year to complete.
(One last thing: It'd be really cool to see a super bounce done in that room if you're still in it and can swing it Dr!)

If nothing else because Uncle POTS was the first one down and proved b2t at the Index was possible.
Locking it down folks. It's been fun.
Howdy all! Long time no see. Turns out there's an HIH group on Facebook (which apparently everyone else knew about besides me), so I'll see you all there.
P.S. Admidistrator.
...and...shut again... ;-)
